Target Benefit Plan: It is a pension plan that resembles a defined benefit plan but also has certain features of a defined contribution plan. Under this plan (like a defined benefit plan), the annual contribution is determined by a formula to calculate the annual sum required to reach the final amount that the participant receives upon retiring. However, like a defined contribution plan, this plan doesn’t guarantee any benefit will be paid.
